Air Karachi is a next-generation Pakistani airline established in November 2024 through the vision and leadership of its founder, Bashir Jan Mohammad of the Westbury Group. The idea for Air Karachi originated with him, and he played a central role in bringing together a consortium of leading businessmen to turn this vision into a reality.
Under his leadership, a strong founding group was formed, including prominent business figures such as Mian Muhammad Ahmed of the Nisar Group (a key equity partner and stakeholder), S. M. Tanveer (Patron-in-Chief, FPCCI), Arif Habib, Hamza Tabbani, and Aqeel Karim Dhedhi. These individuals served as the initial “foundation investors,” establishing the core structure and strategic direction of the airline.
Following its formation, Air Karachi expanded its financial base by attracting investment from a total of 42 prominent businessmen, reflecting widespread confidence in the project and its long-term potential.
Air Karachi is being developed with the ambition of becoming one of Pakistan’s leading airlines, focused on operational excellence, reliability, and a superior passenger experience. As part of its forward-looking strategy, the airline has placed orders for COMAC C919 aircraft, aligning itself with modern aviation standards and efficient fleet operations.
The airline is expected to commence operations between 2026 and 2027, with Karachi as its primary hub. Its initial network will focus on strengthening domestic connectivity across Pakistan, with planned routes including:
- Karachi to Islamabad
- Karachi to Lahore
- Karachi to Faisalabad
- Karachi to Multan
- Karachi to Peshawar
- Karachi to Quetta
- Karachi to Sukkur
- Karachi to Gwadar
- Karachi to Sialkot
- Karachi to Skardu
